چکیده

Abstract: Background: Hydrotropic solid dispersion has been reported as a potential process to improve the poor solubility of drugs using conventional hydrotropes. The presented investigation described water-soluble hydrotropic system for Meloxicam (MX) sodium benzoate hydrotrope enhance and topical delivery. Thus, was prepared, characterized, converted into HSD-Meloxicam gel. prepared gel further characterized in vitro performance. Material Methods: Solid by solvent evaporation method 1:4 ratios. systems were in-vitro release drug content. Accordingly, rate-controlling polymer penetration enhancers selected formulated hydrogel bases. evaluated performance parameters like content, pH, viscosity, spreadability, kinetics, diffusion study, accelerated stability studies, viscosity parameters. Results: containing carbopol-934 (20%w/w) appeared 99% over 60 min time duration. clarity is homogeneous appearance. Similarly, dissolution studies showed HSD gel’s better rheological properties. content found 96% with improved Keywords: Hydrotropes, dispersion, Solubility, Dissolution, Topical gel, Stability studies.

Formulation and Evaluation of Self microemulsifying drug delivery system of low solubility drug for enhanced solubility and dissolution

Atorvastatin is a BCS class II lipid lowering agent. It is insoluble in aqueous solution of pH 4 and below; it is very slightly soluble in water and pH 7.4 phosphate buffer. In the present investigation an attempt has been made to enhance solubility and dissolution of poorly soluble drug by formulating self microemulsifying drug delivery system (SMEDDS). The solubility of atorvastatin in indivi...

Improved Ocular Drug Delivery: A Prodrug Approach

Topical application of eyedrops has been mainly used for treatment of ocular diseases. After instillation of an eyedrop, less than 5% of the applied dose reaches the intraocular tissues. Rapid loss of the instilled solution from the precorneal area and poor cornea1 penetration of the drug results in low ocular bioavailability. However, ocular absorption of a drug can be improved by increasing i...

Preparation and Evaluation of Cyproterone Acetate Liposome for Topical Drug Delivery

Cyproterone acetate (CA) has been loaded to liposome by solvent evaporation and thin film formation technique. The effects of some formulation variables such as temperature of organic solvent evaporation, rotary evaporator speed, volume of organic solvent, volume of balloon and temperature of hydrating buffer has been evaluated. The data showed that bigger balloon with higher surface are...

Liposomes in topical drug delivery.

The possible use of liposomes as topical drug delivery vehicles for both water- and lipid-soluble drugs has been investigated. Data for two characteristic drugs, penicillin G and indoxole, are presented. Liposome uptake by the cornea is greatest for positively charged liposomes, less for negatively charged liposomes, and least for neutral liposomes, suggesting that the initial interaction betwe...
